Camp Star 2015

Position: Assistant Camp Director
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Family Support/Camp Star Coordinator or designate, this position assists in the maintenance and management of the summer Camp Star Program.  Under the leadership of the Camp Director, the Assistant Director helps assure that all programs are designed and facilitated in a "Person Centered" manner that meet the social, health and recreational needs of the program consumers.  Under the direction of the Camp Star Director, the Assistant Director will help supervise, support and give direction to camp counselors.  Candidates must possess a Bachelor Degree in Education, Special Education, Social Work or related field preferred.  Three or more years developing and facilitating recreation programs for a special needs population, preferably adults and children with developmental disabilities.  Good oral and written communication skills necessary.  Must have current American Red Cross Certification in professional level infant, child and adult CPR.  Candidates must be available Monday through Friday from mid-July to the end of August.

Position: Group Leader
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Camp Director or designate this position is responsible for direct care and supervision of campers.  This position focuses on improving the quality of life of our camp participants by providing recreational activities in a camp setting, providing support and mentoring for all campers through a person-focused approach and implementing the daily routines of camp.  Additionally, the Group Leader is responsible for the supervision and direction of Senior and Junior Counselors. Possess or working towards Bachelors Degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.  Experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or children a plus.  Ability to facilitate all assigned camp activities and support campers in all daily needs and activities.  Candidates must be available Monday through Friday from mid-July to the end of August.

Early Intervention


Position: Occupational Therapy and Speech-Language Pathologist Consultants
Job Summary: The Arc of Union County's Early Intervention Program is in search of Occupational Therapy and Speech-Language Pathologist Consultants to join our multi-disciplinary team providing services to children with special needs ages 0-3 in their homes or community settings throughout Union County.  Prospective consultants must have flexible schedules in order to meet the needs of the children and families served.  NJ professional license and valid NJ driver's license required.  At least one year of documented professional experience with individuals from birth to five years of ages preferred.

Kohler School


Position: Physical Therapist
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Collaborative Services or designate and in accord with agency and profession specific guidelines, this position is responsible for the evaluation and assessment of program participants/students utilizing appropriate assessment tools and techniques.  The incumbent will prepare initial evaluation and progress reports as required as well as design and implement goals, treatment plans and clinical interventions based on the evaluation and assessment and in accord with individual needs.  The Physical therapist will oversee and approve all profession specific tasks as conducted by the Physical Therapy Assistant.  Must meet and maintain all academic, experiential and licensure requirements of the agency and professional, state or local governing agencies.  Strong written and verbal communications skills and demonstrated competency in all areas indicated below.  This is a summer position - July 1st  to August 19th, Monday to Friday from 8:30AM to 2:30PM.

Transportation


Position: Driver (Substitute)
Job Summary: Responsible for driving agency vehicles to transport staff and/or individuals to and from approved sites.  The Driver is responsible for the upkeep including cleanliness and regular maintenance of any assigned agency vehicle and related equipment including safety, emergency, and first aid equipment.  High School diploma or equivalent.  Minimum of three years driving experience.  Ideally will have experience in the field of developmental disabilities and thorough knowledge of geographic area.  Must have a current and valid New Jersey Driver license.  Driving record must meet the agency insurability requirements.  Must be able to drive automatic vehicles.  Must be able to meet and maintain all agency, CARF, DDD, DVR and other funding source pre-employment and employment qualifications.  Must be physically capable of driving the vehicle and assisting individuals as needed.

Position: Bus Aide
Job Summary: As assigned, the Transportation Services Aide is responsible for assisting all assigned consumers on and off agency vehicles and to their destination in the course of transporting them to and from agency approved locations.  The aide is responsible for monitoring consumers on the vehicle assuring that all are being transported safely.  High School diploma or equivalent.  Experience with transportation services preferred.  Must successfully complete all agency required training programs.    Must successfully pass Agency approved CPR and First Aid trainings within three months from date of hire.

Residential Services


Position: Program Supervisor
Job Summary: Responsible to assure the delivery of quality services to all assigned individuals' in accordance with the Agency's goals of "Person Centered Planning" and within the guidelines of all Agency and DDD policies and procedures.  Responsible for building a staffing team, staff supervision including Assistant Supervisors and Skill Instructors assigned to their program(s), the evaluation of staff and the recommendation of corrective actions, including up to termination, when necessary.  The Program Supervisor will assure staff development as well as assuring staff compliance with all agency CARF, DDD and other applicable regulations, policies and procedures. Bachelor degree in related field preferred.  Minimum of one-year supervisory experience, plus three years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.  Must have a valid, current New Jersey Driver License and meet agency insurability requirements.

Position: Assistant Program Supervisor
Job Summary: Reporting to the Program Supervisor or designate, this position has direct care responsibilities as well as supervision of others for the daily operation of the residential program.  The Assistant Supervisor will assure that all staff assignments are carried out in accord with agency guidelines and in compliance with applicable policies and procedures. The Assistant Supervisor will have responsibilities for assuring that all health, nutrition, social and recreational needs of the residents are met in accord with agency policies and procedures and with a person centered approach.  Responsibilities will include supervision of Skill Instructors as well as participation in the evaluation of staff and recommendation of any corrective action.  Must have a minimum of one-year experience working with adults with developmental disabilities.  Experience in residential programs with some supervisory responsibility preferred.  Associates Degree highly desirable; Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.  Must have a valid, current New Jersey Driver License and meet agency insurability requirements.
