Career Opportunities
Training and Development
The Arc of Union County strives to provide every employee with the opportunity to further develop his or her skills. Continued professional development throughout an employee's career at the Arc is encouraged.
We continuously offer a wide range of basic and higher level training courses, enabling all staff to learn, enhance their skills, and to provide them with the tools to more effectively perform their responsibilities.
The Arc's internal Training Department provides an ongoing menu of training classes, with most classes being offered on a rotating monthly or quarterly basis. Our high quality skills development opportunities include:
- Pre-Service Training Programs (required for new employees)
- Trainings mandated by the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities ("DDD") and/or Department of Labor ("DOL")
- Health and safety education, including first aid, CPR, and safety classes etc.
- Skills development classes, open to managers and non-managers alike, including team building, time management, project management, supervisor training, conflict resolution, etc.
The Arc of Union County is recognized by the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities as being a Lead Training Agency for disabilities-related social services organizations. As such, non-Arc employees are also permitted to participate in the Arc's high quality training programs with eligibility determined by a potential participant's employer.
