Disability Awareness for Law Enforcement Professionals
We urge any individual working in law enforcement to take our anonymous, online Law Enforcement Survey. Results compiled will be used to identify gaps that need to be addresssed with regard to disability awareness among law enforcement professionals.
The Arc of New Jersey's Developmentally Disabled Offenders Program works to bring disability awareness information and training to law enforcement professionals, including those working in state, county and local police departments.
It is vitally important that these professionals understand how to identify, communicate with and support victims, witnesses and suspects with an intellectual or developmental disability to ensure that they receive access to justice within the criminal justice system.
