This year, The Arc of Union County will be offering our Summer Day Program for children, Camp Star, for four weeks in August. This program, a safe, structured environment for children ages 3 – 21 years old with special needs and their siblings, is designed to enhance personal and social development, language and communication skills, learning, and motor and muscular coordination. Camp Star also provides children the opportunity to participate in planned programs in an inclusive setting, such as trips, swimming, arts & crafts, adaptive physical education, nature exploration, hiking, games, and music appreciation.

Located in Mountainside, camp has both indoor and outdoor accessibility and is a inclusive camp program. In the event of inclement weather campers can enjoy their day within a climate controlled building. Also accessible is the outdoor playground, recreational field and Echo Lake Park.

This program is eligible for coverage through DCF for up to 2 weeks. Perform Care application will be available as of March 1st and can be found at: http://www.performcarenj.org

To receive a Camp Star Application for your camper, please contact Lauren Coakley at (908) 232-0248 or lcoakley@arcunion.org.
